Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Map2Maps, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

Description of Service

Map2Maps is an interactive web application that allows users to:

  • Compare sizes of different countries and regions
  • Draw custom shapes on maps
  • Measure areas and distances
  • Save and share map comparisons
  • Access various map styles and visualization tools

User Accounts

Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities.

Usage Limits

Different account types may have different usage limitations, including but not limited to the number of saved maps, API rate limits, and access to features. Current limits are displayed within your account dashboard.

We reserve the right to modify usage limits at any time, with or without notice, to ensure fair use and system stability. Paid plans with expanded limits are available on our pricing page.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

Map2Maps offers both free and paid plans. Free accounts are limited in the number of maps they can save; paid plans provide expanded limits and additional features.

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually based on your selection
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time
  • Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase. Contact us at contact@map2maps.com within this period for a full refund

Data Backup

While we regularly back up our systems, you are responsible for maintaining your own copies of important map data. We recommend exporting maps that matter to you.

User Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of maps and content you create using Map2Maps. By creating content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the service.

Public Content

If you choose to make your maps public or share them via link, you acknowledge that others may view and interact with that content.

Prohibited Content

You may not create or share content that:

  • Violates any laws or regulations
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
  • Includes spam or malicious code
  • Impersonates others or misrepresents affiliations

Intellectual Property

Map2Maps and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Alberto Montalesi and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We use Mapbox for mapping services, which is subject to Mapbox's terms of service and attribution requirements. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap and other contributors.

Third-Party Services

Map2Maps integrates with third-party services including Mapbox for mapping functionality. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions:

Disclaimer of Warranties

Map2Maps is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The service is free of viruses or harmful components
  • Results from using the service will be accurate or reliable

Map data and measurements are provided for informational purposes only and should not be used for navigation, legal boundaries, or critical decision-making without verification.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Map2Maps and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Unauthorized access to your data
  • Errors or inaccuracies in content
  • Third-party conduct or content
  • Any other matter relating to the service

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Map2Maps, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you create or share

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Map2Maps after changes constitute acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
